Home Away From Home for Teens
Landmarks for Families operates four cottages, providing temporary and/or long-term care for children suffering from emotional, physical, and/or sexual abuse, and neglect. Three of the cottages, the Charleston Emergency Shelter (CES), the Ledford House, and the Callen-Lacey Center for Children (CCLC), can house children ages 0-21. The fourth cottage, Nu House, provides independent living services to foster youth transitioning into adulthood.
Landmarks for Families provides a safe and healthy environment for children to live in, as well as assessment, treatment, and support services designed to address each child’s individual educational, emotional, physical, and social needs. Since long-term relationships are crucial for children, Landmarks for Families works to create a pathway toward permanency for each child that crosses our threshold. The length of stay is dependent upon the needs of the child or family.
