Over 230 Years of Service
Founded in 1790, Landmarks services have played an integral part in providing South Carolina children and families with a new direction. As a direct descendant of the Charleston Orphan House – America’s first publicly-funded orphanage – we have evolved alongside the needs of our community. We are privileged to now help over 860 children, in addition to local youth and families, navigate and overcome life’s greatest challenges.
Supporting Parents Within our communities
Find the support your family needs to learn, grow, and connect. These foundational lessons are protective factors for thriving families.
Strengthening and reunifying families
Parents in our community are never alone with Landmarks workshops, groups, and one-on-one support for caregivers.
Sheltering at-risk youth

“Landmarks saved my life. As a teen, I was in a bad situation and had no where to go. The family at Landmarks took me in and showed me compassion and love. I would not be where I am today if it were not for the care they provided.”

“Sheltering at Safe Haven was my lifeline. During a time of immense struggle, when I felt lost and alone, the incredible people at Safe Haven offered me refuge, understanding, and a new chance at life. Their unwavering support and kindness changed my trajectory in ways I’ll forever be grateful for.”

“In my darkest moments, Hope House became my beacon of light. It’s not just a place; it’s a haven where I found solace and strength when life had pushed me to my limits. The community at Hope House embraced me with open arms, reminding me that I am not defined by my circumstances. Today, I stand tall thanks to their unwavering belief in me.”
