L.Y.G.H.T. – Peer Grief Support Group
The Listening and Led by Youth in Foster Care: Grief, Hope, and Transitions (L.Y.G.H.T.) program is a peer grief support group influenced by and developed for youth in foster care. Learn more about L.Y.G.H.T. here!
As an ongoing group, teens in foster care (ages 16-21) are always welcome to join!
The L.Y.G.H.T. program, an evidence-based and trauma-informed peer grief support intervention, was inspired by youth in foster care who reported that their loss and grief is not adequately addressed in the foster care system. L.Y.G.H.T provides a safe space for youth in foster care to listen, talk, and offer support to one another as they cope with their grief. This may include missing family, friends, and other important people, as well as other losses in their lives.
Why join L.Y.G.H.T.?
Youth in foster care choose to join L.Y.G.H.T. because it’s a safe space where youth can feel supported by their peers as they navigate the foster care system, including the losses, successes, and other experiences that are important to them.
Your life and your experiences matter because YOU matter!
