Family Resource Connection and Preservation Services (FRCPS)
Family Resource Connection and Preservation Services (FRCPS) is a short-term, family-focused support program offered in partnership with the South Carolina Department of Social Services (SCDSS). The program works with families to build on their strengths, address challenges, and connect them with the support and resources they need to remain safely together.
FRCPS is designed to help families navigate challenges such as parenting stress, financial hardships, and other circumstances that may impact family stability. The goal is to strengthen families, promote child safety and well-being, and help prevent the need for out-of-home care.
How We Support Families
Families may receive individualized support and connections to resources, including:
- Parenting Education – Practical coaching and strategies to support positive parenting and manage challenging behaviors
- Family Support & Counseling – Support with emotional well-being, life skills, and other challenges families may be experiencing
- Basic Needs Assistance – Connections to resources for food, clothing, housing, childcare, transportation, and other essential needs
- Case Management – Individualized support, goal-setting, referrals, and regular home visits to help families make meaningful progress
What to Expect
FRCPS is a short-term program, typically lasting 2–6 months, with services tailored to each family’s needs and goals. Services are community-based and primarily take place in the family’s home, allowing families to receive support in a comfortable, familiar environment.
Families work alongside supportive professionals to identify strengths, develop practical skills, access community resources, and build a stronger foundation for the future.
Eligibility
Families must be referred by the South Carolina Department of Social Services (SCDSS) to be eligible for FRCPS services.
