Family Success Coach Services

Family Success Coach Services is a post-permanency support program that helps families build strong, healthy, and lasting relationships after experiencing foster or kinship care. Success Coaches are here to celebrate your family’s strengths, help you achieve your goals, and support you every step of the way. Whether you’re managing a crisis or looking to build new skills, we’re here to empower you and your children for the future.

Families can receive personalized support with:

  • Social and emotional well-being
  • Behavioral and mental health needs
  • Parenting skills and positive discipline
  • Family communication and relationships
  • Educational support and advocacy
  • Financial planning and stability
  • Connections to community resources and benefits
  • Employment and career resources

Program Goals

Through education, guidance, and connections to community resources, Family Success Coach Services empowers families to build confidence, strengthen relationships, and achieve lasting success. The program helps families:

  • Strengthen Family Connections – Build positive relationships, communication, and support networks.
  • Build Family Strengths – Increase confidence, self-sufficiency, and skills for navigating challenges and managing crises.
  • Support Children’s Well-Being – Promote healthy development and connect families with important medical, mental health, educational, and community resources.
  • Promote Family Stability – Help families address challenges, build resilience, and create safe, supportive homes where children can thrive.

Eligibility

Services are available to reunified, kinship, and adoptive families who meet program eligibility requirements. The child must be under age 18 at the time of service engagement and reside in Berkeley, Charleston, or Dorchester County.

Children who have experienced foster or kinship care due to abuse or neglect continue to have risks that negatively impact their well-being after they exit care. As a result, Success Coaches work with these children and families to provide them with tools proven to increase their protective factors and mitigate their risk factors.
