Connection Group Workshop
The Connection Group Workshop is a research-based program that helps parents and teens strengthen their relationships and stay connected through the transition into adolescence.
Strong, healthy family relationships provide an important foundation for a young person’s growth, learning, and well-being. They help teens develop the social and emotional skills they can carry with them throughout life—and building these connections takes time, care, and effort.
Connection Group Workshops provide families with practical ideas, activities, and tools to:
- Strengthen family bonds and build trust
- Improve communication between parents and teens
- Navigate challenges that come with growing up
- Find new ways to stay connected as teens become more independent
- Build positive and supportive family relationships
What to Expect
The program includes 4–6 weekly sessions. Each session begins with a family meal and typically lasts 2 hours.
Connection Group Workshops also include opportunities for:
- Parents to share experiences, explore challenges, and learn strategies with other parents and caregivers
- Youth to talk about family relationships and experiences with other teens
- Parents and youth to explore and strengthen their relationships together
- Families to practice strategies and tools for building connection, communication, and trust
Eligibility
Families with pre-teens or teens ages 10–17 are welcome to participate.
